Now that we are back and settled in from Affiliate Convention, we thought we’d take a moment to talk about our experience at this brand new convention held in Denver, Colorado.
We arrived in Denver on Wednesday night and after settling in at our hotel, we headed out to Platinum 84 for Affiliate.com’s Mile High Affiliate Pre-Event Party. The venue they chose was pretty interesting (it being a strip club and all) but it seemed that everyone had a great time hanging out, drinking, and networking with fellow affiliates.
That next morning we woke up early, prepped our booth, and anxiously awaited for the convention to begin. First off, this was definitely one of the smaller shows we’ve attended (there were around 20 booths and around 1000-1200 people roughly), however it was great, because it was a lot more personal and it allowed us to meet and talk to almost everyone there. Many of the affiliates we talked to at the convention loved the smaller feel of the show as well, because it allowed them to meet and network with people they might never have had the chance to at a bigger show like Ad Tech.

The day went by rather quickly, and before we knew it, night had sprung upon us and it was time to head out to The Lure Lounge for Webmaster Radio’s party. After Wednesday night’s party, we thought the naked girls (strippers) was a one time thing….boy were we wrong. Right as we walked in, we immediately noticed around 6-8 ladies with painted shirts on, walking around offering everyone shots. It was definitely an experience!
The party was PACKED pretty much the whole night, so it was nice having VIP access and being able to give a bunch of our affiliates VIP access as well. After hanging out for a few hours, we headed back to the hotel to prepare for Day 2 of Affiliate Convention.
Friday was a great day as well. Not only did we get to meet and get to know a lot more affiliates, Graham Gochneaur (Clickbooth’s CMO) spoke on two panels (Super-Affiliate to Affiliate: Best Advice for Growth, and How to Get what you want from your Affiliate Manager.). “I had a great time speaking on both panels, and was very impressed with Affiliate Convention, everything was done first class.” – Graham Gochneaur
All in all, Affiliate Convention was a great experience and we had a blast being the Platinum Sponsor this year. “We’re always excited to help with new conferences and networking events for our affiliates.” said Erin Cigich, Director of Affiliate Publishing for Clickbooth.com. If for some reason we didn’t get the chance to meet you , we will be attending Affiliate Summit in August, so make sure you stop by and say hi! We hope everyone had a great time in Denver…we definitely did!
