Announcing Tampa Bay Business Journal’s #1 “Best Place to Work”!

We did it again! Last week, IntegraClick and Clickbooth were recognized once more for our efforts toward employee satisfaction, this time by the Tampa Bay Business Journal’s annual “Best Places to Work” awards.

The awards were open to every company in the Tampa Bay area and presented the opportunity for employees to be surveyed on their real feelings about their employers with regard to 40 attributes known to drive employee engagement. Companies had to reach a certain percentage of responses in order to qualify to make the list, then were ranked based on their overall scores.

IntegraClick and Clickbooth not only qualified, but went on to claim the #1 spot in the “Bigger” category! Check out the article and full rankings that appeared in the April 22nd issue.

Having a fun and exciting work environment is something our team members take very seriously here (as evidenced by some of the features of our Clickbooth campus), so being recognized as a top company on the list is definitely something we hold dear to our hearts. :) And while this is a great ego boost for CB, we see it as an even bigger win for our clients, because everyone knows that how happy you are with your job is directly connected to how excited you are to do your job.

So if you’re thinking that your business could benefit from a team that’s excited about doing what they do, give us a shout! We’d be happy to hear from you! But first, we’re going to take a minute and celebrate with a little something that helped get us on the list in the first place…(hint: —–>)

What do you do to keep your day-to-day exciting? Tell us about it in the comments section below!

Just out of curiosity, how did they separate the bigger, biggest, etc categories? Is it by the number of employees or revenue/profit?

  2. Fico Reader says:

To keep my day exciting at work, I play pranks on my colleagues, take extended lunch/coffee/smoking/water cooler breaks. I try to go on Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube often.

    *dream bubble pops*

I wish – I’d get fired for that!

My workplace is ok.. we do take a lot of things seriously but we also have flexi-time which some people do take advantage of. When I was junior/just starting out, I would take Friday afternoons off usually because I had gone over 40 hours per week. No one objected though – probably after they saw that my timesheet was already over 40 hours per week by the time that I had hit Friday!

We didn’t have any fancy slides or video games/arcade games until recently when we installed a brand new flat screen TV and sometimes have Guitar Hero competitions. haha We also have Tea Break Tuesday which is where we all take a turn each week to bring in morning tea. We also have Frappe Fridays which is where our resident Frappe King would make us all a frappe.

I know the night customer service team goes out for dinner regularly, and invite the day staff are sometimes invited if they work later.

It doesn’t sound like much but it is also family friendly and pet friendly so if you need to pick up your kid from school and don’t have a babysitter, the kid can just stay in the office (usually either doing homework or on the computer). Pets are allowed as long as they are cute and furry and not freaky like snakes lol! Also there is not much politics (seriously) which makes it a great workplace to be in even though we don’t get paid as much compared to others in the industry. Somehow these little things more than make up for the stress of working in a company full of politics.

    • Tina says:

I agree with you there Sean, about the little things making up for the stress of working in a company that is simply filled with politics, is really scandalous, or makes you work ridiculous hours so much so that you have no social life at all. Sadly, I have been in companies that are like that. The one that really was ridicuous was the no social life whereby on Friday afternoons they would say “Oh you have to work tonight, saturday and sunday to do [brand new project that gets scrapped anyway]” just like that without warning so you have to cancel any dates or activities out with family or friends!

  4. Monica says:

I read the articles that you’ve linked in your blog post about the whole best workplace to be in thing. You guys have really beaten a lot of top notch companies (who are probably really stifing!) Great job guys!

  5. olivia says:

You really could give Dave & Busters a run for their money! Nice gym too.

  6. xavier says:

i wish my company would follow your example. everyone’s just too serious… do you have any other fun things in the office other than the slide?

  7. belinda says:

well done! other than the slides, what else makes your company such a great place to work in?

    • Thao Tran says:

The people. Everyone here supports each other and we work together as a team. We also have monthly company-sponsored events outside of the office to team build. This allows our employees to get to know each other in a more casual setting.

      • Robert says:

It’s great to see a company that actually puts the notion of ‘people first’ into practice. I used to work for a company (who has been awarded for the past 3-4 years by WorldBlu as the “Most democractic company” in the world) but is really the most autocratic. They used to say people were the most important asset, but it felt more like high school all over again with all the egos and backstabbing… plus many of my female colleagues complained that the boss kept trying to hit on them. Yep, people first indeed!

      • Leroy D-wec says:

I read the article and I agree – people are the secret sauce to a company. WIthout good employees (and good bosses) the company would just not be the same. What’s the number one thing you complain to your friends or family about your workplace? Your colleagues or bosses if they are really getting on your nerves. If everyone respects each other and work is a fun place to be, then people will actually look forward to get up in the morning as opposed to dragging their butt out of bed with annoyance.

  8. Liam says:

Great work guys! I wish all offices would combine fun and serious work….

  9. Amanda says:

Congratulations on being the best workplace in Tampa Bay! That slide looks like so much fun!

    • Thao Tran says:

Thanks Amanda. We take it down to the 1st floor every chance we get!

      • Greg says:

The slide reminds me of one that I saw on my holidays in Malaysia – there was a twisting slide from the 7th floor to the ground floor!

But seriously, having a slide in the workplace must unleash the inner child. I bet if any of your colleagues are parents, their kids love using the slide too!

      • Daniel Woods says:

Oh I’ll bet you do try to take the slide down every chance you get! I would do the same thing too. :)

  10. Floupy Media says:

    Congratulation… That’s awesome …
Hope that one day my company would be the “best place to work” too…
Well actualy it’s not just a “hope” as I’m working on it …
    Congrats again !!

PS: – Q:What do you do to keep your day-to-day exciting?
    – A: Well I’ve just got 2 things: 1 – Row Ambition.. 2 – Perseverance …
Believe me or not, sometimes it’s all you need to succeed…

    • Thao Tran says:

Thanks and we’ll be rootin’ for you!

Great Q&A right there. We agree that ambition and perseverance are what keep us going. But we also find that having a team that supports, motivates and challenges keeps us on our feet too.

      • Harold, LLC says:

Those are definitely all important. A family friendly environment is also important for those who do have families… is CB family friendly? A company I wish I hadn’t quit was both family and pet friendly… now I really regret leaving.

      • Tina says:

It sounds like my dream place. I’ve been in too many companies that simply don’t appreciate staff.

        • warren says:

It’s a pity that your company only accepts job applicants from the USA! Hard work and no play makes for too many businesses around the world. It’s also really annoying when you have a boss who thinks you have no social life and therefore you have to give up things at the last minute or just have no weekends.

      • Jamie says:

Support and respect is definitely a must. I also find that the place must have good bosses and managers who actually support and respect their subordinates – not bully them or take adavantage of them.

    • Jack says:

Having good staff members is very important… imagine if you had a person who just kept rocking the boat? That would just create disharmony…

    • Eloise says:

Good luck with your endeavours, Floupy Media! Ambition and perseverance are definitely a huge part of the recipe for success – just like what the team seems to be like at CB.
